Product description
BOLTARON is a very durable thermoplastic alloy similar to KYDEX.
Like KYDEX, BOLTARON is made in the USA and can be heat molded over a range of temperatures 160°C – 200°C.
Heating can be done in a kitchen oven or with a heat gun.
It has unusual resistance to complete melting (softening) in the range of molding temperatures and can be shaped in classic molding presses, or it can be welded, glued or mechanically joined (riveted, screwed).
Like KYDEX, BOLTARON is also suitable for making sheaths for knives and weapons.

Boltaron
Oproti KYDEXU je BOLTARON o něco málo tvrdší materiál, a práce s ním může být o něco náročnější. Naproti tomu BOLTARON má větší tepelnou odolnost v oblasti formovacích teplot proti roztavení, takže při tvarování je možné ho více zahřát a lépe tak tvarovat. Další výhodou je jeho tvarová stálost při vystavení větším teplotám při běžném používání (ponechání v létě v rozpáleném autě, nebo na přímém slunci). Stejně tak oproti KYDEXU nemá BOLTARON tendenci praskat a lámat se při podchlazení nebo zmrznutí.
