Product description
Ziricote is a unique and exceptional wood in appearance, the colors of which vary from medium to dark brown, sometimes with a green or purple tinge and bands of black rings. The drawing of ziricote is sometimes also characterized as a "spider web" or a drawing reminiscent of a view of the landscape, its structure can also resemble the drawing of carefully selected Brazilian rosewood.
If the material has a distinctive structure or an original unrepeatable appearance, it tends to be very expensive. It is often used for demonstration or exhibition model guitars and custom built musical instruments.
Ziricote is a very hard and heavy wood that is difficult to dry because it has a high risk of surface cracking; however, it has excellent shape stability when dry. It has medium durability, and because it is more of a straight fiber, it has good machinability.
It turns well and can be painted to a high gloss.
