Product description
NESSMUK knives are designed to meet the special needs of professional hunters, fishermen, campers and craftsmen.
They are universal knives for being in nature and hunting, including starting a fire and bringing down game. Suitable for all outdoor activities, they can withstand rough handling, including chopping.
The name of the NESSMUK knife is after the American named George Washington Sears (1821-1890). In 1880 he wrote for the nature magazine Forest and Steam. He popularized Adirondack lake canoeing and helped popularize today's popular bushcraft.
Sears gathered his experience of life in nature with a young Narragansett Indian named Nessmuk, whose name translated as wood duck. Sears later chose this name as a literary pseudonym.
