Multi-purpose carbon steel with high tensile strength. It is often used for various small and medium components such as springs, knives and valves. After quenching and tempering, it has a fine martensitic structure that provides the highest fatigue strength of all non-alloy steels. Popular steel for damascus / pattern welded blades in combination with 15N20 steel.
